What kind of event do you think is fun and easy to participate in? Would you like to have an impact on the accessibility of cultural events in your area? Do you want to make a difference? Join the Audience Experts!
The Oulu Cultural Events Association is running a project named Saavuta. The goal of this project is to make the cultural events near Oulu more accessible. Accessibility means that everyone will have the same chance to visit and enjoy cultural events.
This spring we are collecting experiences from people who want to have an impact on the accessibility of cultural events. These people can join the Audience Expert group and workshops. In the workshops, the people make suggestions on how to make cultural events better for everyone. The workshops are relaxed and creative. For example, comics and storytelling can be used as working methods. In the spring, there will be two workshops, and they last a maximum of 2,5 hours. Working languages are English and Finnish. The workshops are aimed especially for immigrants, but all people are welcome.

Workshop timetable:
- Tuesday, April 22nd at 4.30PM-7.00PM: creative workshop
- Tuesday, April 29th at 4.30PM-6.30PM: meeting cultural event producers
You can tell what you think about visiting cultural events, and sign up for the Audience Expert group and workshops by filling this form. Send the form at the latest on April 14th. You need no prior experience in audience work, cultural events or workshops. We will contact you via e-mail later.
After these workshops, the people can continue working with the project and visit a cultural event in June or August. This visit is free of charge. Possible events are for example Oulu August Festivals events, Oulu Pride and Dammisaaren Rapumaja events. After the visit, the people can join a third workshop where we collect their thoughts about the event and workshops.
